Deeper and Deeper

Matt won six out of the last seven days in our little trivia competition, so I will be buying him a nice Shirley Temple and pressuring him to take his expertise back to Jeopardy! for a shot at the title.

Our kitchen is almost done, and I am wishing that I would have been smarter about it. There's a fridge-sized cutout in one of the walls, and I'm not sure what's going to happen with it. Had I followed Portia's sage advice "You have to make a plan", perhaps I wouldn't be in this mess.

The move went very well, in spite of my cynicism. We didn't tie down two of the three trucks very well, and they needed re-tieing after a couple minutes at 70mph.

Yesterday I broke my thumb playing flag football. That's twice in 8 months! What's wrong with my bones? I guess if you don't drink milk, you shouldn't play rugby. Write that down.

And Vikki has an entertainingly caustic report of last night's Academy Awards

Words from the unwise

...about moving.

Sheree is moving in tomorrow. Very exciting times.

We are saving $90 (plus $20 in gas) on a U-haul by using three pickups and three SUV's, and paying $12 each in gas to the drivers. Food and drinks will be a little more. A few hours of easy work with friends will make this a very nice weekend.

When friends help with a move, it's best to have EVERYTHING packed. Sheree is tops. Clothes packed. Bedding vacuum sealed (with a hose attachment and costco black plastic bags; NOT TV's $39.95 Space Saver. Thanks Oprah) Everything in boxes.

Bobby has tie-down straps. Mike is bringing a couple dollies.

In spite of these preparations, I can't help but think we left something out.

Home Poker Tourney - How To Play Texas Hold'em Poker: "The last player to bet or raise, or to check first if no one else bets, is required to show their cards first at the showdown. The remaining players may or may not show their cards as they wish."

Hopefully this will help prevent any ruffled feathers tonite.
